First/Initial Visit

Orthodontist Dr. Nahid Maleki is delighted to offer a free initial exam for potential new patients in the Washington, D.C. area! Your first visit is, indeed, a special occasion. It is our first opportunity to learn about you and what you would like to accomplish through orthodontic treatment. We have scheduled ample time to discuss your needs, answer your important questions and respond to any of your concerns. Doing so ensures we attain not only the best clinical result, but that you will be pleased with your smile.

On your first visit, you will meet Dr. Maleki and receive a thorough oral examination to determine your orthodontic needs. We will advise you of any problem and the necessary corrective treatment. Again, this visit is complimentary and given at no charge to you here in our Washington, D.C. office.

Diagnostic Records

If treatment is indicated, records will be taken to enable Dr. Maleki to study the problems and determine the necessary corrective treatment. We will take impressions for upper and lower study models, facial and oral photographs and cephalometric head and panoramic X-rays. The fee for diagnostic records is due at this time. If you would like to begin treatment immediately, we can complete these records at your first visit.

Consultation

Two to four weeks after your first visit, Dr. Maleki will invite you and your family in for an in-depth consultation. If married, both husband and wife are requested to attend. We will discuss the specific problem, as well as our plan for treatment and what braces are suitable for your case. The fee for the entire treatment, its anticipated length and financial arrangements will be discussed. With this data, you can make an informed decision about your orthodontic care.

Future Appointments

It will be necessary for you to make many appointments during work or school hours. Our appointment hours vary from day to day. After the appliances have been placed on your teeth, you will be seen approximately once a month.
